Health and safety notice — please read
Pacelab is a timer and workout builder, not a medical device, a personal trainer, or a source of medical advice. Exercise carries risk of injury. Consult a qualified physician before starting any new exercise programme, especially if you are pregnant, recovering from injury or surgery, or have a heart condition or any other medical concern. Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, or shortness of breath. You train at your own risk.
Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Pacelab Intervals and Pacelab Timer mobile applications, the website at pacelabintervals.com, and our APIs and integrations (together, the "Service").
The Service is operated by the company identified in our Imprint. Where these Terms say "we", "us" or "Pacelab", they mean that company.
By downloading, accessing, or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and forms part of these Terms.
What Pacelab Provides
Pacelab lets you build and run interval workouts, keep a training history, schedule sessions, share workouts with others, and take part in challenges. An optional account adds cloud sync across devices.
The Service is currently provided free of charge. We may introduce paid features in future; if we do, we will make clear what is paid before you are asked to pay for anything.
You need a compatible device and an internet connection for account, sync, sharing, and AI features. Core timing and workout building work offline.
Eligibility and Accounts
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and you may not use it if you are under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
An account is optional. If you create one, you agree to provide accurate information, to keep your credentials secure, and to tell us promptly at support@pacelabintervals.com if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app. What happens to your data on deletion is described in our Privacy Policy.
Health, Fitness and Your Own Judgement
Pacelab provides general fitness tools and information. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and nothing in the Service should be treated as such.
Workouts available in the Service — whether built by you, shared by another user, published in the public library, or generated by an AI assistant — are not reviewed by medical or fitness professionals and are not tailored to your individual health, fitness level, injuries, or circumstances.
You are solely responsible for deciding whether any workout is appropriate for you, for exercising within your capabilities, for using equipment safely, and for stopping when you need to. If in doubt, consult a qualified professional.
Do not use the Service to design or follow rehabilitation, injury-recovery, or pregnancy-specific programmes without professional supervision.
AI-Generated Workouts
Pacelab can be connected to AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT, which can create, edit, schedule, and read workouts in your library on your instruction.
AI-generated workouts are produced automatically and are not reviewed by us before they reach you. They may be unsuitable, unbalanced, or simply wrong. Treat them as a starting point, apply your own judgement, and adjust anything that does not suit you.
You control which assistant you connect and what you ask it to do. You can revoke a connection at any time from within that AI client. What an assistant can and cannot access is shown on the authorisation screen and described in our Privacy Policy.
Your use of a third-party AI assistant is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for their services, availability, or output.
Your Content
Workouts, exercise names, titles, notes, and other material you create remain yours. We claim no ownership of them.
To operate the Service we need a limited licence to your content: when you share a workout, publish one to the public library, or create a challenge, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display that content for the purpose of running those features. This licence exists only so that share links, the public library, and challenge boards can work, and it ends when you remove the content — except for copies others have already saved, and for shared workouts that remain reachable via links other people hold, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You confirm that you have the right to share whatever you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
Content you keep private stays private. We do not publish anything you have not chosen to share.
Acceptable Use
When using Pacelab, you agree not to:
- • Share content that is unlawful, abusive, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that promotes self-harm, disordered eating, or dangerous training practices
- • Impersonate another person, or misrepresent who created a workout
- • Upload other people's copyrighted material without permission
- • Use the Service to give medical, rehabilitation, or clinical advice to others
- • Submit false results to a challenge board, or otherwise manipulate rankings
- • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, servers, or data that is not yours
- • Scrape, overload, or abuse our APIs, or circumvent rate limits and other technical safeguards
- • Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited advertising
- • Reverse engineer, decompile, or resell the Service, except where such restriction is prohibited by law
If you come across content that breaks these rules, please report it to support@pacelabintervals.com.
Sharing and Challenges
A share link can be opened by anyone who has it. Treat a shared workout as public and do not put anything sensitive in titles, notes, or descriptions you intend to share.
Challenges have a results board. If you post a result, your first name and your performance become visible to everyone holding that challenge's link. Posting a result is always optional.
We may remove shared workouts, public library entries, challenges, or results that breach these Terms, or that we reasonably believe put users at risk.
Availability and Changes
We work to keep the Service running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Maintenance, updates, and outages happen.
We may add, change, or withdraw features. If we discontinue a feature that holds your data, we will give reasonable notice where practical so you can export what matters to you.
Your workouts and history are stored on your device as well as in the cloud when sync is enabled, so an outage of our servers does not stop you training.
Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, or where necessary to protect other users or the Service. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put things right first.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including the licence needed to keep existing share links working, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — continue to apply afterwards.
Disclaimers and Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We are liable without limitation for damages caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under applicable product liability law. For slight negligence we are liable only where we breach a material contractual obligation, and then only for foreseeable damage typical of this kind of contract.
We are not liable for content created by users or by AI assistants, for injuries arising from exercise you choose to perform, or for the services of third parties such as app stores, AI providers, or health platforms.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by agreement.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you also keep the protection of any mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings there.
The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, the rest remains in effect.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service develops. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above.
For significant changes we will give you a more prominent notice, such as an in-app message, before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, you can stop using the Service and delete your account.
